pops is turning 70. the fam is rallying to put together a sushi party which is one of his favorite family activities.

from a recipe by scott beattie (”beau regards”), he makes a special syrup. as usual, i was too lazy to do such a thing. i also only used five berries (frozen from back in the season) which yielded a distinct, but shallow, blueberry flavor, and a beautiful magenta color.
