had a couple cocktails at a cute neighborhood place in denver called venue bistro. i don’t know if i was in the right mood or what, but i really enjoyed our dinner despite it having some clunky flaws. i think i liked that everything seemed well-intentioned. aka “made with love”.
cocktail 1: stone fruit martini
cocktail 2: key lime-cherry rickey
cocktail 1, vodka with a bunch of muddled fruit. it was not strained, and not very cold. i asked if it could be reshaken and strained. (I SWEAR I AM NOT HIGH MAINTENANCE) i got a colder drink, but stuff still floating in it. heh. despite that, it was actually pretty damn good, clean, refreshing, lots of fruit flavor and not too sweet.
cocktail 2: the main thing of note was the inclusion of leopold’s cherry liqueur which as far as i can tell is an excellent product. i want some.
